Reiki

The word "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "rei" (universal) and "ki" (life energy). Reiki is a type of energy healing. Life energy is also called "chi." In India, this is known as "prana." This is the same energy involved in tai chi exercise. It is the life force energy that some believe surrounds all of us.

One could say that Reiki is a form of alternative therapy commonly referred to as energy healing. It emerged in Japan in the late 1800's and is said to involve the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner's palms to their patient.

Reiki is a beautiful form of energy healing that is versatile, gentle, and effective. It uses life force energy to heal the body, mind, and spirit. Life force energy nourishes all the cells in the body and supports their functioning. Reiki is used to balance and increase the "ki". When your life force is low, you feel weak or a general sense of unease. Low life force can also make you susceptible to illness. Strengthening your life force will help your body heal and remain healthy.

Reiki is an energy healing treatment that works holistically. This is not a system of religious beliefs, Reiki is simply a relaxing treatment whereby natural healing vibrations are transmitted through the hands of a Reiki practitioner (acting as a conduit) to the body of the recipient.

Reiki assists in the body's natural healing processes, and supports emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. It is also said to bring about deep relaxation, help people cope with difficulties, relieve emotional stress, and improve overall well-being.
